A researcher (30 months 100% - H/F)

 

Research project

Research lies within the scope of a European project on the development of an intelligent environment based on a proactive information processing system that captures human reactions. The development of an intelligent environment raises ethical and sociological questions that are as important as the design of this type of project. The researcher will investigate these questions at the theoretical as well as the empirical level, and ensure their comprehension by the originators of the system.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor, Master or Ph.d. from the social sciences with an interest in the philosophical and sociological ethical questions (social acceptability in particular), together with an interest in the problems involved in social integration and the governorship of new technologies.

 

Necessary qualities

·      Scientific rigor and motivation for research: preference will be given to researchers wishing to undertake a doctoral or post-doctoral course;

·      Ability to work independently;

·      Excellent spoken and written English.

 

Environment of research

CITA is a university research centre located at the Institute of INFORMATICS of the FUNDP (Belgium).  It is directed by Claire Lobet-Husbands (Doctor of Sociology) and Philippe Goujon (Doctor of Philosophy). It is composed of an interdisciplinary team of researchers (sociology, philosophy, history, economy and sciences of the communication).
