Dear Michael,

I wondered whether it would be possible to use the CHS mailing list and/or
website to advertise a research post for a Leverhulme Trust funded project I
will running over the next two years (see below). This might seem an unusual
request but because of ongoing problems with Human Resources it was not
possible to predict when this job advertisement was going out - so I
couldn't time it with the Newsletter publication. Linda Clarke and I will be
writing a short piece on the research for the Newsletter as soon as the
project has started but in the meantime it would be great if we could alert
CHS members to the fact that we are recruiting for a research post in
construction history - a rare occurrence. I do hope you can help.

2 years fixed-term contract

£26,845 - 35,912 p.a. incl. of LWA

The University of Westminster invites applications for a Research Associate
to work on a Leverhulme Trust funded project: Constructing Post-War Britain:
building workers' stories 1950-70. You will be responsible for conducting
literature reviews, recording and archiving oral histories, carrying out
empirical analysis, organising meetings and workshops, and preparing written
reports for presentations at conferences and for identified publications.

Candidates should have a good first degree and preferably a postgraduate
qualification or doctorate in Social Studies, Humanities or related
discipline.

Closing date: 21st April 2010
