Abstract:

Could one person make an electric toaster from scratch? Could a human take a holiday from being a human by becoming a goat? No, and no. But designer Thomas Thwaites uses his attempts at these impossible tasks to traverse and link diverse topics in economics, philosophy, science and its history. He will talk about his work, The Toaster Project, and his recent attempt to become a goat, as well as his other design pieces.
