[ATHENA] Parution du N°1 de Ædificare. Revue internationale d'histoire de la construction

Nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer la parution du numéro un de Ædificare. Revue internationale d’histoire de la construction aux éditions Classiques Garnier. La revue est éditée grâce aux soutiens du Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication ainsi que de l’Association francophone d’histoire de la construction. C’est une revue semestrielle, interdisciplinaire et multilingue qui applique le processus d’évaluation par les pairs.

 

Nous pensons que c’est un moment important pour notre communauté scientifique.

 

1/- Elle ménage un nouvel espace dédié à l’histoire de la construction, un champ de recherche qui s’épanouit à l’international depuis les années 2000, et qui se développe régulièrement dans chaque aire géographique et/ou linguistique en Europe et Outre-Atlantique. En témoignent, pour le domaine francophone, les actes qui paraissent aux éditions Picard tous les trois ans (Édifices & Artifices, Les Temps de la Construction,…).

 

2/-Elle permet également de publier des recherches de pointe en cours d’élaboration. Nous sommes favorables à la diffusion des travaux des jeunes doctorants ou post-doc qui constituent l’avenir dynamique de nos interrogations, comme au débat avec la communauté scientifique, de façon interdisciplinaire et dans les principales langues européennes (allemand, anglais, espagnol, français, italien et portugais), des nouvelles tendances (ou orientations), des projets de recherche et des expérimentations.

 

Vous retrouverez la table des matières avec résumés de ce numéro non thématique sur le site de l’Association . Nous pouvons déjà vous informer que le deuxième numéro thématique sera consacré aux techniques constructives dans les écrits d’architecture entre Italie et France (XV^e – XVI^e siècle). Il devrait paraître en décembre prochain. Nous préparons la troisième livraison qui devrait être un « Varia ». Les propositions peuvent nous parvenir jusqu’en novembre de cette année.

 

Nous serons reconnaissants à ceux qui y participeront. Une revue ne se fabrique pas seul, c’est l’œuvre d’une équipe. Ainsi, ceux qui sont intéressés peuvent y contribuer de diverses manières :

 

-          en proposant, eux-mêmes ou ses étudiants, des articles de fond, des articles d’un autre type comme des états de l’art, des éditions critiques de sources, des traductions de textes majeurs, des mises en perspectives de controverses, des interviews, etc. ; des comptes rendus d’articles, d’ouvrages, de thèses ou d’habilitations à diriger des recherches, d’expositions, etc.) ;

-          en nous envoyant leurs travaux et publications afin que nous en rendions compte (à l’adresse de l’Association francophone d’histoire de la construction c/o Robert Carvais, 2, rue Jean-Baptiste Say, 75009);

-          en suscitant des initiatives,  des numéros thématiques ou des manifestations qui restent à inventer.

 

Les commandes peuvent s’effectuer en ligne auprès de l’éditeur au numéro ou par abonnement et, en ce qui concerne les étudiants et les adhérents de l’AFHC, sur le site de l’association .

Dear colleagues,

 

We are delighted to be able to announce the publication of the first issue of Ædificare. International journal of construction history, by Classiques Garnier. The journal has been prepared thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, as well as the Francophone Association of Construction History (the AFHC).

 

We believe this is important moment for our scientific community.

 

1) It carves out a new space dedicated to construction history, a field of research that has been blossoming internationally since the 2000s, and which is undergoing regular developments in each geographical and/or linguistic area of Europe and on the other side of the Atlantic. In the French-speaking sphere, this is illustrated by the conference proceedings published by Picard every three years (Édifices & Artifices, Les Temps de la Construction,…).

 

2) It provides an opportunity, furthermore, to publish cutting-edge research currently underway. We support the dissemination of work by young doctoral or post-doctoral researchers, who constitute the dynamic future of our reflections, as well as debate with the scientific community of an interdisciplinary nature and in the main European languages (German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese), new trends (or directions), research projects and experiments.

 

You can find the table of contents and the abstracts of this non-thematic issue on the website of the Association. We can already tell you that the second, thematic issue will be dedicated to construction techniques in architectural writings between Italy and France (15^th—16^th centuries). Its publication is planned for December. We are also preparing the third instalment, which should take the form of a ‘varia’. We will be accepting proposals until November.

 

We will be grateful to anyone who participates. A journal does not come about on its own; it is the work of a team. So there are numerous ways of contributing for anyone who is interested:

 

-          By agreeing to undertake a double-blind review of articles submitted, to improve the quality of the journal;

-          By proposing, either by yourself or your students, leading articles, other types of articles such as state-of-the-art reviews, critical editions of sources, translations of major texts, outlooks on controversies, interviews etc., and reviews of articles, works, theses or accreditations to supervise research, exhibitions, etc.;

-          By sending us your work and publications so that we can review them (at the address of the AFHC: Association francophone d’histoire de la construction, c/o Robert Carvais, 2, rue Jean-Baptiste Say, 75009);

-          By starting initiatives, thematic issues or events yet to be created.

 

We are counting on you to act as spokespersons for the journal in your universities or schools, both here and elsewhere, and to encourage subscriptions in your research centres and libraries. Equally, do not hesitate to take out a subscription yourself or to recommend that others do so.

 

Orders, for either individual issues or subscriptions, can be made online from the publisher. Students and members of the AFHC can also order from the website of the association.
