This symposium replaces the conference which should have been held in Moscow in June 2020 and which was supported by the CAK (Paris), CEFR (Moscow), CERCEC (Paris), Cermes3 (Paris), CRHS (Paris), DHI (Moscow), EHESS (Paris), LARHRA (Lyon) and the Women's Commission of the DHST.
This symposium is being held in memory of Larissa Zakharova (1977-2019), a specialist of the Soviet Union who devoted much of her work to the history of technology (https://www.cercec.fr/membre/larissa-dufaud-zakharova/). Her last work, published by the ‘Éditions de l’EHESS’, is entitled De Moscou aux confins les plus profonds. Communications, pouvoir et société en Union soviétique (‘From Moscow to the Remotest Corners: Communication, Power and Society in the Soviet Union’).
Warm regards,
Grégory Dufaud & Isabelle Lémonon-Waxin for the scientific committee
