Subject: [hss-women] Nancy G. Slack 1930-2022I wanted to let the group members know that Nancy G. Slack, 1930-2022, botanist and historian of botany, passed away on December 21, 2022 after a short illness. She taught botany at Russell Sage College and then also became interested in the history of botany. She was part of the "Creative Couples" group and published a biography of G. Evelyn Hutchinson. Contributions in her memory can be made to Glen and Nancy Slack Endowed Award in the Sciences FundEstablished in 2002 upon the retirement of Professor Nancy G. Slack by fellow faculty, friends and former students. Additional funding also provided by Drs. Glen and Nancy Slack. This award recognizes exemplary students who have completed at least their second year in biology, pre-medicine or biochemistry.
