Masterclass in the Philosophy of Mathematical Practices with Catarina Dutilh Novaes
Date: June 24–26, 2024
Location: Brussels, Belgium (in person)
Costs: Free
Deadline for abstract submission: May 2, 2024 
Deadline for registration: May 15, 2024

== SUBMISSION TALK

We invite early career researchers who would be interested to present their work to send us an abstract of at most 250 words by May 2nd. Please submit your abstract, including your affiliation information, via the following Google form: https://forms.gle/5fwDu95LszU72hJY9  or by sending it to the following email address: Line.Edslev.Andersen AT vub.be.

The talks will be of a duration of around 20 minutes (not including discussion). Notification of acceptance will be sent out by May 9. Notice that submitting an abstract is not mandatory for attending the Masterclass.

==REGISTRATION WITHOUT ABSTRACT

Registration for the event is open from now until May 15. Attendance is free and open to anyone interested, but registration is required via the following form: https://forms.gle/5fwDu95LszU72hJY9  or by sending an email to: Line.Edslev.Andersen AT vub.be .

==TRAVEL GRANTS

We hope to be able to provide a very limited amount of travel grants (up to 300 Euro each) for those who do not have other sources of funding to attend the event. To apply, please send a short description of your situation to Line.Edslev.Andersen AT vub.be . Priority will be given to speakers, but all attendees may apply for a travel grant. Deadline is May 10th.

==ORGANIZATION

The masterclass is organized by Line Edslev Andersen (CLPS, VUB), Yacin Hamami (ETH Zurich), Colin Rittberg (CLPS, VUB), and Deniz Sarikaya (CLPS, VUB / Universität Lübeck). The Masterclass will honor Joachim Frans (1989-2023) who co-organized the Masterclass for many years.

The masterclass is and was supported by the Centre for Logic & Philosophy of Science (CLPS) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Past iterations have been supported by the  National Centre for Research in Logic (NCNL/CNRL), and the Doctoral School of Human Sciences (DSh) of the VUB. This event is endorsed by DMRCP: Diversity of Mathematical Research Cultures and Practices.
