The 38th ICOHTEC Symposium will be held in Glasgow from 2 - 7 August 2011. The main theme of the meeting will be "Consumer Choice and Technology". The aim is to examine the interaction of technology and consumer behaviour in a historical perspective; especially to focus on factors steering consumption and how consumers by their choices have influenced in technological development in the past. A transition from agrarian society to consumer society was one of the epochmaking phases in human history that can be studied from various aspects and contexts.
